Upgrade to WordPress 2.5
Finally got around to doing the big upgrade to WordPress 2.5. Only a few minor bugs to fix, mainly with the K2 theme.

Updated to fix security bugs. I really must make sure I keep up with these
Well, I’ve been getting a bit behind, so in an effort to keep up to date I’ve upgraded the Planet Cyprix blog to WordPress 2.3.2 & theme K2 rc4.
When Steve Ballmer screws you over.
New Nigerian Classmate PC’s with Mandriva Linux to have MS Windows installed later.
What a load of crock! I suppose nobody ever accused MS of being ethical (at least without the sarcasm).
Why does this make any sense at all. I mean just look at this process:
Step 1 – Buy 17,000 Classmate PCs with Mandriva Linux preinstalled
Step 2 – See machines working correctly
Step 3 – Have machines shipped
Step 4 – Pay for hardware and software
Step 5 – Install MS Windoze on all PCs (?!&?*?#$!!!!!)
How the hell does any of that work? Is Microsoft just playing dirty wherever it can? Do they just want to subsidise African nations computer needs?
If they want to pay me to use MS Windows, send me a message.
Interesting election coming up. Here is a YouTube summary/rap by Sydney band Axis of Awesome in conjunction with Fairfax. Read more…
Thought i’d revamp the look of this blog. Enter K2!
K2 is the follow on from the original kubrick theme.
I’ll be updating the look over time using K2 as the basic framework. If you like it get it from getk2.com
Thought I should upgrade to the latest, even if I wasn’t affected by the 2.1.1 scare.
Edit: Also upgraded to 2.1.3, lol that was quick
Updated wordpress to the latest version (2.1.1) and didn’t seem to break anything, also added new anti-spam plugin. Bonus! As a side note, I was finally able to claim my blog at Technorati. See my Technorati Profile
I’ve decided to make it all a bit easier on everyone. You now no longer are required to register to comment!
However, if I get a bit too much spam, then that may be rethought. You have been warned.
Otherwise – Enjoy!
Server problems again.
Culprit: Dead Memory & lack of memory.
Solution: New memory (duh!) and more of it.
Now thankfully the pages load in a reasonable time (<1s) and we can get on with what is most important – that is working out what to do next.
